It's newsletter time again! The list of my upcoming shows for the months to come is here, as well a few numbers I wanted to share with you, and an update about my guided tours.
First, however, let's talk about a show at Malden local TV: David, my host at West Medford Open Studios, and I, planned it a long time ago, and it's now scheduled from October to December. Anne, the woman in charge of the programming, taped me in May to create a segment she'll air before the show, and was going to tape David sometimes this summer. This show is called "Ways of seeing" as we both present a unique take on things, but we also did it as a way to be advertised on TV.
At about the same time, I'll have some work at the Medford library, in a tiny space tucked in an hallway. I wanted to show there in 2019, but the library will move somewhere else, so it was in 2018 or never!
After long consideration, I decided to stop doing guided tours of Boston. It was many hours of work to prepare the tours, especially to research the history of the different places we were seeing, and there were less people signing up, so I wasn't earning enough anymore to justify the time involved. I also realized it's mainly mapping the treks that I enjoy the most, so I'll keep doing it this coming months in NYC.
I also stopped working on my projects on the web for a while to see how they were doing on their own. It meant, between other things, no more use of social medias for about 3 months. Yet visitors still came, and it's the sign I begin to appear on search engines, which was my goal. I'll start posting again in a few weeks.
All in all, I'm happy with the progress I made, and the long break I took this summer!
That's it for this time, see you around, and be well,
I send this newsletter to about 1100 subscribers. I add about 150 each year, and loose about 30. About 30% open it.
Since I started to keep track of my sale, I sold about 1700 prints, 1000 photos, 350 books, 700 cards, and 200 fotoprints (I added photos, books, cards, and fotoprints progressively). It's still a small operation, but I'm impressed nevertheless! It now makes about 25% of my revenues, and I plan to reach a bigger number in the future.
