More shows in Fall. I’ll send you another newsletter in September, and the info will also be posted on this site
I have done a lot of work these past four months, yet it mainly concerns websites and the organization of their content, so I'll have just a few new artworks to show this time, but here is the rest:
- I am now on two crowdfunding sites, one in Europe, one in the USA, and my goal is to get enough monthly support to be able to launch an ad campaign to get more visibility for my sites (1st step), then have more time to create (2nd step). So, and that's my main message this time, would you consider funding me because you like what I do, you like the idea of supporting creation, and you know you'll get your money back in the form of my artworks once you have a big enough pool of money to order something? I don't want to write all the details here, but if you go to my page on Patreon.com (in English, in $) or my page on Tipeee.com (in French, in euros), you'll find them. It would make a big difference for me if I could have your support that way, and it can start at $1/month (and you stop when you want)
- I created two sites with a new dreamy-philosophical story (one in French, one in English) consisting of dialogues between animals and plants (see below)
- I also created a site where photographers and wood or linoleum printmakers can show two of their pieces along with their contact info (see on the right)
- I redid my main site to incorporate the possibility of buying directly from it, and I put ads on the most popular non-sale-related pages.
Looking forward to your answer,
This time, the new prints are all related to the Grand Manan Island (New Brunswick, Canada) where I'll show this summer. Yet, as they are boats from the East coast, they should fit around Boston too!
I used pencils to color them, after seeing Matisse's cutouts at the Moma this winter, and the connection is perhaps not obvious, but there is one, I assure you, at least in my mind!
You can see all of these new prints -and last year's, and most of my work if you browse the pages, here
A Singular Domain
or, in French, Les Espaces Discret, is a story that takes place along three lakes in the Medford area.
I started to go there for walks, saw some animals, took photos, played with them using new apps, and when I came up with this image, it had a dreamy quality I liked. The calm and wise heron pushed me to write dialogues he could have had with other animals and Stick, a character always asking questions about existence, love, emotions, desire, hopes, and so on.
I now want to expand the story with a forum where anyone -you for example, could ask their own existential questions and have them answered by one animal of their choice, on top of the dialogues that I will keep posting on a regular basis.
Images On Sale
wants to be a place where wood and linoleum printmakers and photographers from all over the world show side by side and increase the visibility of each by advertising the site for all, in the spirit of Open Studios. There is also a forum open to show opportunities.
This site is a work in progress right now, as I have not advertised it a lot, but you are welcome to upload your images if you are a printmaker or photographer, or post on the forum (tell your friends about the site, too).
